Marketworks Raises $7 Million in Additional Financing, New Funding to Accelerate Product Development Initiatives and International Expansion |
(Atlanta, GA - June 16, 2005) Marketworks - the Atlanta-based leading provider of sales automation software and marketing services for multi-channel online selling, and eBay's (EBAY) first Certified Solution Provider, announced today it has secured an additional $7 million of equity financing. The financing was led by new Marketworks investor, Council Ventures, a Nashville-based venture capital firm focusing on companies with proven, technology-driven value propositions and strong revenue momentum.
Several existing investors also participated in the round including San Francisco-based Crosslink Capital, which led Marketworks first institutional round of equity financing.
"We are delighted with the confidence and excitement both our new and existing investors have demonstrated," states Marketworks President and Chief Financial Officer, Doug Hadaway. "It's a strong testament to our remarkable growth in customers and revenues, but more importantly, to our future opportunities. Over the past year, we've been developing some truly ground-breaking product functionality that will allow us to continue setting the standard for marketplace management."
Marketworks has recently expanded its geographic and multi-channel capabilities, enabling merchants to quickly access millions more buyers from the Marketworks platform. "The additional financing will greatly accelerate these and other strategic initiatives currently underway," adds Hadaway.

Marketworks enables over 4,000 merchants in 37 countries to sell to hundreds of millions of shoppers across a number of online marketplaces, search engines, and shopping comparison channels from a single platform. Earlier this month the company announced its integration with Overstock.com Auctions (OSTK), further expanding its multi-channel offering.
"The company has demonstrated their product delivers against the needs of the market and their execution is outstanding, commented Jim Feuille, General Partner CrossLink Capital. "We were excited about building on our previous investment in Marketworks", added Feuille.
