Jeremy Ellis is a co-founder and a Principal of Genesis Capital. With over 10 years of investment banking experience, Jeremy is a trusted adviser to Board of Directors, CEOs and CFOs on mergers & acquisitions, raising growth capital, recapitalizations, and exit strategies. Jeremy has been involved in over 70 transactions for an aggregate transaction value in excess of $6.5 billion. He has provided investment banking services to a broad range of family-owned and privately-held businesses as well as public companies, such as ChoicePoint Inc., InfoCure Corporation, Northrop Grumman Corporation and Theragenics Corporation. Buyers of his clients have included numerous private equity firms as well as strategic buyers including Cobham Plc, ITT Industries, McKesson HBOC Inc. and Moog Inc.
Prior to Genesis Capital's founding, Jeremy was a Senior Associate in the Investment Banking Group at Robertson Stephens from 2000 to 2002. Before joining Robertson Stephens, Jeremy worked in the Corporate Finance Department at The Robinson-Humphrey Company, now SunTrust Robinson-Humphrey, from 1998 to 2000. Jeremy also worked on private equity investments for R-H Capital Partners, a private equity fund affiliated with Robinson-Humphrey. From 1996 to 1998, Jeremy worked as a Senior Analyst for Oxford Associates, now MarketBridge.
Outside the firm, Jeremy stays active in the local community. Jeremy was selected by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of its “40 Under 40 Rising Stars” for 2009. He is a Charter Member of the Georgia Aquarium’s Next Wave Society and is active within the Buckhead Council of Neighborhoods. Jeremy was previously the President of the Peachtree Park Civic Association, a member of the alumni board of The Lovett School, and a member of the Junior Committee of the Shepherd Center. Jeremy is also a SCUBA diving instructor, a volunteer SCUBA diver at the Georgia Aquarium and an accomplished underwater photographer (www.jeremyaellis.com). He has logged over 1,000 dives and has had several of his photographs published.
Jeremy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Economics from Hampden-Sydney College.
